1. Who We Are
InjeraGo is an all-in-one platform operated by InjeraGo Tech PLC, a company registered in Ethiopia (injerago.app). We offer four integrated services through a single app:
- 🍽️ ምግብ (Food) — Discover and order from local restaurants
- 🛍️ ሱቅ (Shop) — Buy and sell products across Ethiopia
- 🔑 ኪራይ (Rent) — Rent anything from anyone, anywhere
- 🚚 ዴሊቨሪ (Delivery) — Send or receive packages across Ethiopian cities
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information when you use InjeraGo:
Account Information
- Full name and phone number (required to create an account)
- City and profile photo (optional)
- 4-digit PIN (stored as a secure hash — never in plain text)
Food Ordering (ምግብ)
- Restaurant browsing and order history
- Delivery address and sub-city for food deliveries
- Payment method and transaction reference
Marketplace (ሱቅ)
- Shop name, product listings, and business details (for sellers)
- Order history, delivery address, and payment details (for buyers)
- Shop logo and product photos uploaded by sellers
Rentals (ኪራይ)
- Listing details including photos, pricing, and availability (for owners)
- Rental request history, dates, and payment proof (for renters)
- Business name and subscription plan (for rental owners)
Delivery (ዴሊቨሪ)
- Pickup and dropoff addresses, cities, and sub-cities
- Item description, package size, and category
- Preferred vehicle type
- Payment method and proof of payment for prepaid deliveries
- Approximate distance calculated for fee estimation only — not stored as live location
- Delivery tracking code and status updates
Communications
- Messages exchanged between buyers/sellers and renters/owners via in-app chat
- SMS sent to your phone number for account verification and delivery tracking
Device & Usage
- Browser type and device information (for app functionality)
- Language preference (stored locally on your device)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your InjeraGo account across all four services
- Process food orders and connect customers with restaurants
- Facilitate marketplace transactions between buyers and sellers
- Process rental requests between owners and renters
- Calculate delivery fees based on distance estimation
- Match delivery requests with available drivers
- Send OTP verification codes via SMS
- Send delivery tracking codes and status updates via SMS
- Display your order, rental, and delivery history
- Enforce platform policies including subscription plans and payment verification
- Improve our services and fix technical issues
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information only as follows:
Delivery Partners
When you request a delivery, we share your pickup address, dropoff address, item description, and contact details with our delivery infrastructure partner solely to fulfill your delivery request.
SMS Service
We use an SMS service provider to send OTP verification and tracking messages to your phone number. Your phone number is shared with our SMS provider only for message delivery purposes.
Address Lookup
We use a third-party address lookup service to estimate distances for delivery fee calculation. Your address text is processed solely for distance estimation and is not stored or used for any other purpose.
Other Users
- Sellers can see buyer names and delivery addresses for orders placed in their shop
- Rental owners can see renter names and contact details for approved rental requests
- Your public profile name and city are visible to other users in chat threads
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required by Ethiopian law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
5. Data Storage & Security
- All data is stored securely with row-level access controls enforced across all tables
- Passwords and PINs are never stored in plain text — PINs are hashed before storage
- Admin and approver accounts are protected with two-factor authentication
- Payment proof photos are stored in private, access-controlled storage
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion at any time via the Delete Account page
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information on your profile
- Delete your account and associated data via injerago.app/delete-account
- Withdraw consent for SMS communications (note: OTP SMS is required for account access)
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us at contact@injerago.app
7. Children's Privacy
InjeraGo is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us at contact@injerago.app.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy and Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via in-app notification or SMS. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of InjeraGo after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Terms of Use
9. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using any part of the InjeraGo platform (injerago.app), you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
10. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use InjeraGo. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are authorized to use the phone number you register with.
11. User Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your PIN
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must notify us immediately at contact@injerago.app if you suspect unauthorized access
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms
12. Food Ordering (ምግብ)
- Orders placed through InjeraGo are subject to restaurant availability and confirmation
- Prices displayed are set by restaurants and may change without notice
- InjeraGo facilitates the transaction but is not responsible for food quality or preparation
- Delivery is fulfilled by our delivery partner — InjeraGo is not liable for delivery delays outside our control
- Payment must be made via the methods listed at checkout
13. Marketplace (ሱቅ)
- Sellers are responsible for the accuracy of their product listings including condition, price, and availability
- InjeraGo uses an escrow payment model — funds are held by the platform and released to sellers after verification
- InjeraGo is not responsible for disputes arising from inaccurate product descriptions
- Sellers must not list prohibited items including counterfeit goods, weapons, or illegal substances
- InjeraGo reserves the right to remove listings that violate our policies
14. Rentals (ኪራይ)
- Rental owners are responsible for the accuracy of their listings including condition, pricing, and availability
- Renters are responsible for returning items in the same condition they were received
- Security deposits are handled between renters and owners — InjeraGo facilitates but does not hold deposits
- Disputes between renters and owners may be escalated to InjeraGo admin for mediation
- InjeraGo is not liable for damage, loss, or theft of rental items
15. Delivery (ዴሊቨሪ)
- Delivery services are fulfilled by our delivery partner network
- Delivery fees are calculated based on distance and are subject to admin review — final fees may vary
- InjeraGo is not liable for damage to items during delivery caused by improper packaging
- Customers requesting delivery confirm that their items are legal to transport under Ethiopian law
- Cash on delivery payments are collected by the driver at the time of delivery
16. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use InjeraGo for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Ethiopian law
- Post false, misleading, or fraudulent listings or reviews
- Attempt to manipulate prices, fees, or platform systems
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other users via in-app chat
- Attempt to bypass authentication, security, or payment systems
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute platform content without permission
- Use multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or restrictions
Violation of these rules may result in immediate account suspension without notice.
17. Platform Fees & Subscriptions
- Restaurant owners and rental owners pay subscription fees to list on InjeraGo
- Subscription plans, pricing, and free trial terms are displayed in the app and subject to change with notice
- Delivery fees are charged per delivery based on distance
- Refunds on subscription payments are at the discretion of InjeraGo Tech PLC
18. Intellectual Property
All content, logos, trademarks, and software comprising the InjeraGo platform are the property of InjeraGo Tech PLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
19. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Ethiopian law, InjeraGo Tech PLC shall not be liable for:
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the platform
- Losses resulting from transactions between users (buyers/sellers, renters/owners)
- Service interruptions, data loss, or technical failures beyond our reasonable control
- Actions of third-party partners including delivery, SMS, or payment service providers
20. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any disputes shall be resolved under Ethiopian jurisdiction.
